چکیده

16 In order to understand the dynamic of the (sub)urbanisation and so, to quantify the anthropogenic 17 effects of the rapid growth of tropical cities, it is crucial to find and apply valuable methods. In this 18 contribution, the transferability of the Rüdisser et al. (2012) «Distance to Nature» hemeroby 19 assessment method to the landscape surrounding the city of Lubumbashi (DRC) is evaluated. That 20 methodology has the advantage of taking structural connectivity into account by computing the 21 distance to natural habitats. As it had never been applied to an African city before, some adjustments 22 (fitting of the local land uses types into the hemeroby levels designed to Austria) and amendments 23 (suppression of the final classification into hemeroby level simplification) are proposed. Moreover, an 24 analysis of the decanal (2002-2013) hemeroby dynamics is presented. Results suggest that the 25 Distance to Nature methodology is transferable but requires good field knowledge to define reference 26

Assessment and Spatial Planning of Landscape Ecological Connectivity for Biodiversity Management (Case Study: Qazvin Province)

Habitat and ecosystem fragmentation and, consequently, the loss of landscape connectivity are major causes of biodiversity destruction, leading to disruption of material, energy, and information flow at the landscape scale. Given the importance of this issue, the current study aimed to evaluate the ecological connectivity and spatial planning of Qazvin Province, in order to re-establish and pro...

بررسی دو شاخص کمی کردن الگوهای چشم‌انداز با استفاده از RS و GIS در منطقه حفاظت شده موته

Landscape ecology as a modern interdisciplinary science offers new concepts, theories, and methods for land evaluation and management. One main part of landscape ecology is describing patterns in the landscape and interpreting the ecological effects of these patterns on flora, fauna, flow of energy and materials. Landscape studies require methods to identify and quantify spatial patterns of lan...

Evaluation of Ecological Vulnerability in Chelgard Mountainous Landscape

Although complexity and vulnerability assessment of mountain landscapes is increasingly taken into consideration, less attention is paid to ecophronesis-based solutions so as to reduce the fragile ecosystem vulnerability. The main propose of this study is to provide an insight of mountain complex landscape vulnerability and propose ecophronesis-based solutions in strategic planning framework fo...

استفاده از بعد فراکتالی برای بررسی اثر مقیاس بر حساسیت سنجه‌های سیمای سرزمین

The sensitivity of landscape metrics to the scale effect is one of the most challenging issues in landscape ecology and quantification of land use spatial patterns. In this study, fractal dimension was employed to assess the effect of scale on the sensitivity of landscape metric in the north of Iran (around Sari) as the case study. Land use/ cover maps were derived from Landsat-8 (OLI sensor) i...
